The push-rod fitting in a door frame or window frame is mounted in a recess and covered by a flat metal strip. This is secured by rotatable toggles which protrude beyond the width of the opening in which the push-rod is mounted. Eccentric discs (20) are tightly threaded on screws (22) which pass through the cover strip, the surface of their countersunk heads coinciding with the outer cover surface. Initial screw rotation brings the disc (20) into contact with the recess walls, after which further screw tightening presses the disc into tight contact with the shoulders (16). The screws pass through slots in the push-rod (12).
