The sealing ring is particularly for a pulsating hydraulic system, acting both in the radial and the axial directions. It incorporates a thrust piece (16) exerting an axial pressure when installed, while the radial sealing effect is provided by a sealing edge (5). The piece can be formed by a series of bosses protruding from the ring in the axial direction, these bosses being flush on the outside (17) with the outside (10) of the ring, while on the inside (15) is a further sealing edge (6) acting in the axial direction.
