PURPOSE:To float the gaseous H2, etc. produced in a sheet metal structure during phosphate chemical conversion treatment and the oil that desorbed from the sheet metal structure during degreasing treatment on the surface of treating liquid by tilting said structure after treating the same for a constant time in the treating liquid thereby removing these. CONSTITUTION:An automotive body 3 which is a sheet metal structure having openings on the circumferential side and moving in parallel with the bottom surface 2 of a phosphate chemical conversion treating tank 1 is moved continuously in the tank 1 by a conveyor 4. The upper part 5 of this conveyor 4 above the tank 1 is mounted and the body 3 is suspended by way of two suspension members 6a, 6b by leaving a suitable spacing in the conveying direction of the conveyor 4. The body 3 conveyed in the tank 1 by the conveyor 4 is treated by phosphate chemical conversion treatment liquid 7 in a fully submerged state. The gaseous H2, etc. produced in consequence of this and stored with in the ceiling are discharged through the openings in the front part in the advance direction 8 of the body 3 in the ascending part 5a of the part 5 of the conveyor 4. On the other hand, in the descending part 5b of the part 5, the gaseous H2, etc. are discharged through the openings in the rear part in the advance direction 8 of the body 3 and further in the extension part 5c of the descending part 5b, the body is again fully submerged in the liquid 7, whereby phosphate chemical conversion treatment films are perfected. |
