PURPOSE:To improve mold strength and the collapsing property of the mold after casting by adding sodium gluconate, slaked lime and cement as a binder to molding sand, kneading the mixture with water and molding the same to a mold then reacting the same with a CO2 gas. CONSTITUTION:2pts.wt. Sodium gluconate and suitable parts slaked lime, cement, etc. are added as a binder 100pts.wt. silica sand for mold, and the mixture is kneaded with water and is molded to a mold. A CO2 gas is blown into this green sand mold to cause the mold to react and harden. The mold which is high in mold strength before casting, is superior in collapsing property after casting and is easy to knock out is obtained. |
