The injector (52) has a locking unit (54) to lock a case (44) of an active assembly (28) with respect to an injector body (12). The unit has a piston (56) slid in a cylinder (57). The piston and the cylinder delimit a hydraulic releasing control chamber (60), where filling of the chamber controls the movement of the piston to release the case through the piston. The chamber has fuel inlet and outlet orifices (62, 66) that are in fluid communication with a fuel supplying orifice (20) and an injection orifice, respectively. A maintaining spring (30) is cooperated with the case.
