摘要 PURPOSE:To make rapid and accurate measurement possible with a small amount of gaseous sample without formation of any flame by generating oxidation heat by the gaseous sample with an electric heating element, detecting the change in the resistance of the heating element by the oxidation heat thereof and indicating the calorific value. CONSTITUTION:A gaseous sample and a combustion supporting gas are ejected from gas supply lines 13, 14 into a reaction vessel 12, so that the gaseous mixture is filled in the vessel. The gaseous sample contacts with an electric heating element 2 consisting of a platinum wire or the like which is an oxidation catalyst material, then the gaseous sample causes oxidation reaction and oxidation heat is formed aside from Joule heat. The resistance of the heating element 2 is made higher than that before the reaction by this oxidation heat, and the voltage across both terminals thereof is also increased. This voltage is outputted by the signal corresponding to the value thereof from a comparing part 63, and is displayed in an indicating part 7. Since the formation of flame is obviated, safety and operability are considerably improved and the accurate measurement is made rapidly with a small amount of the gaseous sample.
