<p>The object scanner consists of an ultrasonic head (2), to which impulses, governed by a timing generator (3), are fed. The sound head (2) radiates ultrasonic transmission impulses into the object under examination, these signals being reflected from the object (5) and converted into electrical echo signals, after which, they are amplified (6) and fed to a full picture store (7). The reading-in to this store, takes place line for line in series, while the reading out takes place orthogonally, and the representation of the object distribution, is passed to the image compensating network (1), where an improved image signal is produced. This signal is then fed to a cathode ray tube (8) with line and frame generator (9,10), in order to construct the echo image with the desired high resolution. This forms a simpler and more flexible method of obtaining good image resolution with real-time processing.</p> |
