PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of manufacturing an electrode and increase the mechanical strength of the electrode, by adding both a multibranching synthetic resin and a cellulose-system sizing agent to a rechargeable active material, before the mixture is kneaded, and thereby preparing a rechargeable paste. CONSTITUTION:A rechargeable active material such as cadmium is made into a paste. The paste is applied to an electrode core before this is dried, thus an electrode being manufactured. The paste is prepared by making the active material to be added with both an electrolyte resistant multibranching synthetic resin such as a high-density short polyethylene fiber which serves as a binding agent, and a cellulose-system sizing agent such as hydroxypropylcellulose or methylcellulose, before the mixture is added with water and kneaded. |
