<p>An insert section (15) of an ultrasonic probe device (11) is formed of two rigid cylindrical tubes (16,17) which are bendably coupled by means of a hinge (18). The distal tube (17) can be bent freely by operating a control knob (19) at a control section (14), so that an ulstrasonic transducer member (22) at the tip of the distal tube (17) may be brought closely into contact with the body wall.</p><p>Two rotatable shafts (21,26) connected by a universal joint (28) are disposed within the tubes (16,17). A motor (23) supplies rotational driving force to the shafts (21,26) to effect rotation of the ultrasonic transducer (22).</p> |
