A cooking system and a controlling method for the same are provided to conveniently perform a cooking operation without additional user operations for the cooking system. A cooking system includes RF tags(2,4) and a cooking device(1). The cooking device includes an RF reader(3), a memory(14), and a cooking device controller(11). The RF tags include IDs(IDentifiers) of a user. The cooking device changes operational modes according to the RF tags. The RF reader detects the access of the RF tag. The memory has operational modes preset according to the IDs. The cooking device controller matches the user ID of the RF reader with a user ID of the memory, to control the cooking device according to the operational mode. The operational mode includes at least a risk mode and a safety mode.
