A connector is provided to install an actuator and a press arm and install a through hole or a cutout portion in the base portion of at least one contact, thereby improving workability such as the ease insertion, separation, and locking operation of a connection target and reducing a facing area between adjacent contacts to reduce the capacitance component of contacts. An insulator(20) is composed of an insulating material. Plural contacts(40,50) include a contact arm and a base portion. The contact arm can be electrically connected to one of the surface and back of a connection target. The base portion supports the base portion of the contacting arm. The contacts are fixed to the insulator to be aligned in a direction. An actuator(60) presses the other of the surface and back of the connection target. A press arm is installed in at least one of the contacts, and extends from the base portion in substantially parallel with the contact arm to press the actuator toward the connection target. A through hole(41a) or a cutout portion is formed in the base portion of at least one of contacts to penetrate the base portion in a thickness direction of the base portion.
