摘要 [PROBLEMS] The invention aims at obtaining a glass which has a coefficient of thermal expansion of 40 8 10-7 to 50 8 10-7/°C and which has viscosity characteristics favorable for stable production of thin and large-sized glass substrates and is suitable for TFT-LCD's, particularly a-Si TFT-LCD's. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A nonalkaline glass, characterized by having a glass composition consisting of by mass 45 to 65% SiO2, 12 to 17% Al2O3, 7.5 to 15% B2O3, 0 to 3% MgO, 5.5 to 15% CaO, 0 to 5% SrO, 5 to 15% BaO, 0 to 5% ZnO, 15 to 23% (MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+ZnO), 0 to 5% ZrO2, 0 to 5% TiO2 and 0 to 5% P2O5,being substantially free from alkali metal oxides, and having a (CaO+BaO-MgO)/SiO2 value by mass fraction of 0.25 to 0.4 and a mean coefficient of thermal expansion of 40 8 10-7 to 50 8 10-7/°C over the temperature range of 30 to 380°C.
