Bending of a profiled metal sheet, which has alternating longitudinal peaks and valleys, the side sections of which constitute the side sections of the peaks, about an axis that extends at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the peaks and valleys and parallel to the plane of the sheet metal. Known methods for bending such profiled metal sheets have proved to have certain limitations with regard to the possible applications and minimum bending radii that can be achieved with one or more connected bending stages or bending moments. In order to eliminate these disadvantages a method is proposed for bending a profiled metal sheet, in which the bending takes place in at least two successive stages. In the first bending stage transverse peaks are formed downwards along at least one line in the valleys parallel with the said axis for partial bending of the sheet A, and in the second bending stage transverse peaks are formed downwards on both sides of the peaks formed with the first bending moment, for final bending of the sheet A to the desired bending angle. <IMAGE>
