PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit photographing with an image size necessary and sufficient for print resolution required by a photographer, in a case when the image photographed by the imaging device is printed. SOLUTION: The resolution upon printing is computed and when the computed print resolution is larger than a specified value, the display on a liquid crystal display unit is effected with a high resolution while the display is effected with a low resolution when the computed printing resolution is small. According to this method, the photographing size is known previously that it is small with respect to the size of paper to be printed whereby a failure that the image size is too much small with respect to a desired printing size will not be caused.
