PURPOSE:To improve the recording and reproduction efficiency of a magnetic disk by orienting a magnetic field so that the radius-directional angle of the magnetic orientation normal line of the magnetic disk will nearly agree with the azimuth angle of a head over the entire recording surface. CONSTITUTION:Locus 8 of the magnetic-field orientation normal line of magnetic disk 1 is made to agree with the gap-directional locus of a head. When disk 1 having the magnetic field oriented in this way is used, the magnetic-field orientation normal line and head gap agree in direction with each other at any position on disk 1, so that the recording and reproduction efficiency of even a magnetic disk driver positioned by a rotary actuator can be held excellent. To orient the magnetic field, magnet 11 matched with a desired shape of orientation, for example, is located at a prescribed position and disk 1 is only rotated as shown by arrow 12. Thus, the magnetic orientation providing locus 8 of the magnetic-field normal line can be carried out. |
