PURPOSE:To lower the cost of a microlens array by integrating a multiplicity of triangular transparent bodies sealed in with spherical transparent bodies of different refractive indexes in one body. CONSTITUTION:Spherical transparent bodies 2 are dropped into the respective home positions of the multiple triangular grooves provided in a base 5. Thence, transparent liquid material such as acrylic monomer is injectd into the base 5 up to a fixed height and is solidified by polymerization in such a manner as to have no internal stresses and bubbles. Thereafter, if the molding is removed from the base 5 and side walls 7 forming a mold, a microlens array 1 is obtained. Since in this way the array is manufactured immediately if a metallic mold of a wave shape is made, the cost is lowered. Also, the similar effect is obtained by cutting off the peak part of the triangular transparent bodies to a trapezoidal shape. |
