PURPOSE:To obtain a screen printing mask giving a sharply profiled image faithful to the original image by coating both sides of a middle unetched or alkali-soluble metal with a metal etching with an etching soln. and different from the middle metal to form the structure of three layers. CONSTITUTION:A metallic plate for a solid metallic mask having three layers consisting of ink injection side layer (m), ink discharge side layer (o) and middle layer (n) between layers (m) and (o) is formed by coating both sides of layer (n) made of copper or brass with layers (m), (o) by Ni plating. After forming patterns of resist P on layers (m), (o), nickel is removed by etching with a mixed soln. of H2O2 and HNO3 to disclose layer (n). The disclosed layer is then removed and pierced by the pressure of water from a spray gun or by dissolution in an alkali soln. which does not dissolve layers (m), (o). Thus, a tough metallic mask having high printing resistance and giving a superior image is manufactured. |
