PURPOSE:To prevent an error in reading by moving a head at an interval of prescribed distance from the center of rotation of a disk and by setting to nearly zero the azimuth of the head angle at the closest position to the center of the rotation. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic head 11 is moved in parallel on straight line 13 at an interval of prescribed distance L from center C of the rotation of magnetic disk 12; when head 11 is located at an minimum interval of distance A from center C of disk 12, azimuth angle (theta) of head 11 should be zero and when at maximum distance B from center C of disk 12, azimuth angle (theta) should be maximum (thetamax), which is sin <-1>L/A-sin<-1>L/B. Accordingly the resolution is varied according to the movement of head 11 to suppress a peak shift which is easy to appear at the internal circumference of disk 12 and a shoulder which is easy to appear at the external circumference, so that an error in reading can be made hard to occur. |
