<p>The refrigerated display container for foodstuffs etc. comprises a housing with an inner display chamber with an access opening. A first air conduit passes round the housing between an inlet (18), and an outlet (16), these pointing towards each other so that air flowing between them passes over the access opening (6). It also contains a refrigerator unit (12) for the air, and a circulating fan (14), the latter being reversible for defrosting. A second air conduit (10) extends partway round the chamber outside the first one, its outlet being near that of the first, while its inlet is so positioned as to receive air from the first conduit before it passes through the refrigerator unit during a refrigeration cycle. A control system changes over between the refrigeration and defrosting cycles, shutting down the refrigeration unit during the latter in addition to reversing the air flow direction.</p> |
