PURPOSE:To form a high-precision semispherical face of a work such as pivot shaft, with any radius of curvature, by relatively turning the work while pressing it to an elastic member. CONSTITUTION:An end of a bar work 101 is pressed to an elastic member 102 and turned relative to the elastic member 102, while grinding compound 17 is fed between them. The combined adjustment of the pressing force and revolution can machine the work end with any given radius of curvature. |
