PURPOSE:A whitening lotion, prepared by incorporating a clathrate compound of a vitamin E with cyclodextrin in a lotion consisting of water and an alcohol essentially, in which the vitamin E having skin whitening effect is stably and uniformly dispersed in the lotion. CONSTITUTION:A clathrate compound of a vitamin E, preferably alpha-tocopherol, tocopherol acetate or tocopherol nicotinate, with cyclodextrin is incorporated in a lotion consisting of water and an alcohol essentially to give a smooth skin whitening having a transparent feeling without skin irritation, containing the fat-soluble vitamin E having a skin whitening effect stably and uniformly dispersed in the lotion in a concentration >=0.01wt% without using a solubilizing agent. The resultant whitening lotion is handleable in the same manner as the conventional lotion lotain very simply and capable of imparting the cosmetic effect as a lotion to the skin at the same time. |
