Rigid sealed containers are made from concentrically rolled layers of smooth card (2,4,6) and corrugated card (3,5) cut so that the ribs run parallel to the container axis. The number of component layers depends upon the required container size and stiffness. The base (7) and cover (9) are sealed by similar structures having a dished circular form with rims which can be clamped to those of the container body by annular metal hoops (8,10) with a firm 'C' profile. Used for mfr. of relatively large pots, tubs, pails etc. from cheap, light materials yet having structural stability for holding solids, liquids or pastes.
