Polymeric hose with moisture impermeable film - over hydrophilic aramid fibre reinforcing braid to prevent bubble formation

Hose includes aramid yarn with great affinity for water forming a reinforcing braid around an inner tube, a moisture-impervious tubular film between braid and an outer adhesive layer, and an outer tube over the adhesive. The film is bonded against the braid and in the interstices between individual braid yarns. The film isolates the braid to produce a tubular zone around the braid which is free of moisture created bubbles. The film is pref. of acrylic latex and the adhesive is a plastisol. The latex is pref. applied as a liquid and air dried.
