<p>The top and bottom horizontal rails are double U shaped profiles, the smaller sitting inside the larger to form a square section hollow tube. Uprights (5) and vertical bars (6) are square section hollow profiles, the uprights being larger than the bars. Uprights and rails are joined by right angle or T shaped hollow fasteners to which are attached either hinges for gates or fixing plates for fences, both seated in the traditional masonry of the gate or fence. The bars (6) are bedded into square section holes in the top and bottom rails with square section washers aiding seating and providing a weatherproof joint.</p> |
