The concealed furniture joint secures the end of a hollow rectangular section rail (1) to a round hollow post (2). A length (3) of 'T' section is rivetted (6) to the post so that the stem (3b) projects horizontally to form a tongue, and a relatively elastic rectangular section cellular block (4) houses onto the tongue. A headless screw (9) secures the block on the tongue. The block is a sliding fit in the extremity of the rail. The screw (9) is accessible through a rail wall hole, being driven further to press the block lobe against the opposite rail wall and secure the joint. The block (4) may have a central longitudinal diaphragm wall (4d) with a cross wall (4c) countering the screw thrust.
