The napkin consists of an envelope (1, 2) made of towelling, folded along a line (3) and having the dimension corresponding to those used customarily in the field, so as to make it possible to cover the shoulders and front and rear neck areas (fallout areas). An insulating, impermeable, flexible lamellar filling (4), in the form of a semi-circular sector, covers those parts of the shoulder and of the neck which are liable to receive runs, while leaving a sector (5) free for absorption at the lower part. It may be used particularly as a napkin for dyeing or for the application of any hair lotion, the excess quantities of which, when they run, risk staining the user's clothing. <IMAGE>
