Process for producing a pneumatic tyre

In the production of a pneumatic tyre, a bead is used in which a rubber mixture forming a bead filling (3) surrounding the bead core is still not vulcanised. The bead is inserted into a mould (2) intended for cold forming; then the rubber mixture is injected in the plasticated state into the mould (2) at high pressure. In this process, the rubber mixture is held at a temperature at which no vulcanisation yet takes place. The still unvulcanised bead is demoulded and combined with the other parts of a pneumatic tyre to form a complete structure and vulcanised together with these parts. The process aids the assembly of the tyre parts and the maintenance of the dimensional tolerances. <IMAGE>
