The vessel has a main central hull with a float on either side. The floats (1) are joined to the hull (2) by bridges (3). The trailing edge of each bridge is fitted with a movable aileron (4) actuated by a hydraulic cylinder connected to a linkage in the hull. Each bridge may also be hinged in the horizontal plane to modify the distance of each float from the centre line of the hull. The bridge may alternatively be hinged in the vertical plane to raise the float clear of the water surface.
