Mixing gases with liquids under pressure - esp. ethylene with water for spraying onto pineapples

A gas is dissolved in a liquid at the pressure at which it is desired for use in the following process. The liquid is raised to an intermediate pressure and the gas is introduced. The pressure of the mixture is then raised to the desired level. The process is parti useful for dissolving ethylene in water containing active charcoal which is then sprayed onto fields of pineapples to aid floration. The process is less liable to release gas into the atmosphere and so lessens the risk of accidents. It also enables less ethylene to be used on pineapples than is necessary with conventional methods.
