PURPOSE:To enable a color fluorescent screen to be manufactured in high precision with a simple method by preventing a reflected light on the outer surface of a panel from being collected on the inner surface of the panel when a light sensitive resin layer spread over the inner surface of the panel is exposed through a color discrimination electrode. CONSTITUTION:A light sensitive resin layer 2 is spread over the inner surface of a panel 1p and is exposed through a color discrimination electrode with stripe-type openings. In this case, the ray of light which reflects on the outer surface of the panel 1p and returns to a resin layer 2 is designed not to be collected on the inner surface of the panel 1p. Then the nonexposed section of the resin layer 2 is removed by development and a light absorption material layer 3 is spread over the whole surface. The resin layer 2 is removed together with the light absorption material layer 3 by reverse development and the plural number of different phosphor materials 4R, 4G, and 4B are spread over this removed section. As a means which avoids the collection of said reflected light, for example, thickness of the panel, configuration of the outer and inner surfaces of the panel, shape of the color discrimination electrode, slit pitch, and the distance between the panel and the deflection center of an electron beam shall be properly selected. |
