A plastics component such as the hub or bearing for a fan rotor, belt drive wheel, cable pulley, coupling, crank or the like has an internal bushing for connecting to the shaft. This bushing is an inlay of a material which is more temp. resistant, mechanically stronger and more creep-resistant than the remaining material of the wheel hub or bearing. Pref. the inlay is injected into the remainder of the component. It is locked into it by close-fitting connecting elements such as projections and recesses. The inlay is pref. of a glass fibre-reinforced thermoplastics or thermosetting material. Pref. materials for the inlay are glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide 6, polypropylene, phenol-cresol or bis-maleic-imide. This arrangement enables the highly thermally and mechanically stressed bushing of the bearing or hub to be made of expensive and resistant material without using such material for the remainder and avoids the use of a mechanical inlay or insert.
