The driver climbs into his cab with the aid of a ladder-type device, on a monorail suspension train running on rails laid on the roof of galleries in an underground mine. A component of the ladder (11) is fastened to the driver's cab (5) so as to swivel horizontally and vertically. It is arrestable in its setting, in both the travel position and operative position. A lengthways floor bar (14) of the cab can have a swivelling arm (13) turning about a sloping axis, with an end base stringer (12) of a pref. telescoping ladder turning about a vertical axis.
