The motor vehicle front suspension comprises upper and lower wishbones pivoted on a subframe which is elastically mounted on the vehicle chassis. The elastic mounting improves braking stability by causing a castor angle change under braking. The wishbone pivots (16,17,18,19) are mounted on a subframe (6) on each side of the vehicle. Each subframe is supported on the vehicle cross member (11) by rubber bearers (9,10). The braking force (B) causes rotation of the suspension about a transverse horizontal axis (12) below road surface level (13).
