Fatty amine salts of carboxylic acids are used for antimicrobial purposes. The carboxylic acids contain at least six carbon atoms and are preferably straight or branched aliphatic carboxylic acids. The amines forming salts with the carboxylic acids can be primary, secondary or tertiary, mono- or diamines containing a higher aliphatic group with at least eight carbon atoms. The salts can be used for various antimicrobial purposes, such as a tree protection agent, agricultural fungicides and bactericides and fungicides for various industrial applications. The salts are especially useful as tree protection agents and they have good effect against both bruising and mould fungus and decay fungus. |
