FIELD: physics, measurement. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention is related to I&C equipment and may be used, in particular in hydraulic systems of aircrafts, where information is required on displacement of executive hydraulic cylinders. Detector comprises coil with movable core made of ferromagnetic material, which is mechanically connected to controlled object. Excitation winding is arranged on frame of nonmagnetic material by wire wound turn to turn along the whole length of transducer working travel. Two metering windings are arranged with wire wound turn to turn on top of excitation winding. Besides each subsequent row of metering winding is shorter than the previous one by the same value. Metering windings are connected back-to-back. ^ EFFECT: improved linearity of output characteristic at high values of working travel. ^ 1 dwg
