A droppable side for a loading platform having a rectangular loading surface 10 and at least two beams 11 which support the loading surface along two opposite edges thereof, whereby the side 12-17 is provided with suspension means 18, 19 along its edge adjacent to the loading platform for swingable fastening of the side to one of the beams of the loading platform. The side is provided with a carrying list 17 at its edge adjacent to the loading platform, said carrying list extending along at least the major part of the length of the side and extending from one side surface of the side to the other side surface of the side. The suspension means 18, 19 are arranged such that the carrying list 17 is situated immediately facing an impact-absorbing surface on the beam 11, onto which the suspension means of the side are fastened. In a shown embodiment, the carrying list is divided into a number of separate parts 17a, 17b, 17c, which are arranged to be slid onto the remaining part of the side, whereby the suspension means 18, 19 are arranged to be placed between the various parts of the carrying list. The carrying list 17 is arranged to protect the side and the suspension means of the side against strikes and impacts while loading and unloading cargo onto and from the loading platform, respectively. <IMAGE> |
