PURPOSE:To prevent resistance produced due to the weeds during steaming, by a method wherein a rotary support member, which can pivot upward from a tilt lock rod, is located at a support shaft, positioned facing and opposite to the tilt lock rod, and the rotary end part of the support member engages said rod at a position where a propelling unit is lifted halfway up. CONSTITUTION:A propelling unit 15 is lifted halfway up for shallows-sailing such that a tilt lever 35 first turns counterclockwisely, and as a result, a tilt lock arm 32 rotates clockwisely through a link 41 to release a lock. By means of a handle 2, secured on a case 16 of the unit 15, the propeller unit 15 is pulled halfway up, and a handle 60 is depressed. This causes a counterclockwise rotation of a support member 50. As a result, an end part 53b makes contact with an arm lower surface of a steering fork, and simultaneously, a central part 52 thereof is positioned facing and oppsite to a tilt lock rod 30. Through the downward movement of the propelling unit, the central part 52 is brought into contact with the tilt lock rod 30, and the propeller unit 15 is supported at a halfway position. Through the reverse operation, the propelling unit is brought into an usual steaming condition. |
