<p>1. A chuck for machine tools, each jaw of which consists of a support component (2), mounted so as to slide in a radial slide-guide (1a) of the chuck ; a gripping component (3), which is applied to one surface (2a) of the support component (2), transverse to the axis of the chuck ; a connecting member (5), movable within housings (6 and 7) of the two components (2 and 3), which housings are aligned in a direction which is not perpendicular to the axis of the chuck ; and means which can be actuated from outside the chuck for displacing the connecting member (5) in its aligned housings (6 and 7), characterised in that each gripping component (3) is mounted so as to slide in a radial slide-guide (4), of which at least the end furthest from the axis of the chuck is open, and that the connecting member (5) is movable between a retracted position in its housing (6 or 7) within one of the two components (2, 3) of the jaw, and a connecting position, in which the connecting member (5) is engaged at least partially in each of the housings (6 and 7) within the two components (2 and 3) of the jaw.</p> |
