The drilling tool comprises a fluted portion (1) with at least one, preferably helical, groove (2) to clear the cuttings and a shank portion (4) to secure it in a tool holder. The portion is grooved over its entire length and is held in a central opening in a bush which serves as shank and extends over part of the length of the portion. The internal contour (5) of the opening corresponds with the groove contour to provide a driving connection between bush and cutting portion. This contour may be produced by casting. The bush may be a cast plastics component. |
