PURPOSE:To perform printing in a stable manner without lowering of the transferring efficiency by a method wherein a voltage source capable of impressing a plurality of voltages is connected to a grid electrode provided between the corona discharge electrode of an initial electrifier and a latent image forming body and the impressing voltage is controlled in accordance with the driving condition of a transferring apparatus. CONSTITUTION:After a uniform charge layer is formed on the latent image forming body 1 by the initial electrifier 2, a latent image of charge is formed by a latent image forming means 3 and developed by an image developing device 4, and thereafter it is transferred on to recording paper 11 by a transfer electrifier 5. In the electrostatic printing device thus constituted, two sorts of impression voltages are prepared for that on the grid wire 14 of the electrifier 2. At the time of nondriving of the transferring apparatus 5, i.e. at the 1st cycle of a photosensitive drum 1, a switch 16 is shifted to the 1st grid voltage supplying power source 17 on the low-voltage side and the low voltage is impressed on the grid wire 14. At the 2nd and subsequent cycles with the transferring apparatus 5 is driven, the switch 16 is shifted to the 2nd grid voltage supplying power source 18 on the high-voltage side and thereby the high voltage is impressed. Thus, the fall of the potential of electrification on the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 at the time of driving of the transferring apparatus is compensated. |
