<p>Electrically conductive seals, especially gaskets are made from a composition comprising (1) a halogenated plastic, especially a polyvinyl chloride plastisol resin, (2) electrically conductive particles, especially nickel, carbon, platinum, chromium, zinc, iron, titanium, cobalt, aluminum and mixtures and alloys thereof and preferably free of silver and gold, and (3) a material chosen from zinc, zinc compounds, amides and amines and mixtures thereof, especially zinc salts or polyamides. The composition is formed by a first stage heating of a plastisol to flux the filled plastisol and a second stage heating of the fluxed plastisol to bring about an increase in the electrical conductivity.</p> |
