PURPOSE:To make the size of a head drum small, by constituting one field of a video signal with two recording tracks. CONSTITUTION:One field of the video signal to be recorded is 262.5H, and 1/2 field, i.e., 131.25H is recorded on one recording track. Thus, the length of the recording track 5 is halved even at the same relative speed as conventional systems, the diameter of the head drum can be halved, resulting in making small the size. But, the number of revolutions of the rotating head can be doubled. Since the switching of the rotating head is made twice per one field, once on the playback screen, joint is caused at the center of the screen without fail, the processing is possible with electric correcting means. At playback, the rotating head 3a traces over the recording track of B-B'', but the signal is not detected because the azimuth of the gap 4 is different. |
