PURPOSE:To obtain an image excellent in an impression of a three-dimensional body and in quality by providing a thermal transfer recording medium and an object to be transfer recorded, on a base, and carrying out heating simultaneously with or after thermal transfer of a thermal transfer layer, thereby effecting foaming. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording material has a construction wherein a thermal transfer layer 12 is provided on the face side of a base 11 or a construction wherein the thermal transfer layer 12 is provided on the face side of the base 11, with a releasable layer 13 provided therebetween. The recording material 1 may be provided, if required, with a heat-resistant layer 14 on the back side of the base 11 or with an adhesive layer 15 on the thermal transfer layer 12. The thermal transfer recording material 1 thus constructed is heated from the base side thereof by a thermal head 2 or the like, thereby transferring the thermal transfer layer (heat-foamable ink) imagewise to an object 3 to be transfer-recorded, and foaming is effected by a heating means 4, whereby a three-dimensional image can be obtained. |
