<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the functions of a reflector which is effective to circular polarization and also effective to linear polarization as usual, by providing a metallic- plate grating type reflecting device to the whole or part of the large circumference of a spherical surface. CONSTITUTION:Annular metallic plates 11, 12 and 13, when having width (b) and spatial propagation wavelength (lambda) of an arrival radio wave, have relation b= lambda/4, and interval (a) among metallic plates 11, 12 and 13 is less than the inner cut- off wavelength of the arrival radio wave. Metallic plates 11-13 are stacked in parallel with dielectrics of approximate 1 in dielectric constant and larger-diameter flanks of those metallic plates are covered with flank metallic plate 14 to constitute reflecting device 10. Device 10 is installed at the whole or part of the circumference of large circle 2 of the sphere. This reflector functions as a reflector for a circular polarized wave and is effective when the grating parallel surface is in parallel and at right angles to the horizontal surface. A vertical polarized wave is reflected by the rear surface of the grating and a horizontal polarized wave by the front surface.</p> |
