PURPOSE:To increase the capability of amplification of a laser medium by raising the photoabsorption rate of the inner-wall surface of a cavity from the excited laser medium to a photoresonator and thereby preventing a part of the diffracted light reflected from the inner-wall surface from returning to a glow discharge part. CONSTITUTION:A vessel housing the laser oscillator is covered up tight by a box 1, an anode 6 and cathodes 7 fixed to insulation plates 5 and 8 are arranged inside, further tubes 2 are provided on both sides of the line of the cathodes 7, and a totally-reflecting mirror 3 and a partially-reflecting mirror 4 are fixed to these tubes 2 respectively. Moreover, light-absorbing surfaces 2a are arranged on the inner- wall surfaces of the tubes 2 so that the diffracted light can be absorbed these surfaces 2a when standing waves are generated between the totally-reflecting mirror 3 and the partially-reflecting mirror 4 by laser medium gas excited by glow discharge 10 and the diffracted light reaches the inner-wall surface of the tube 2. And, the diffracted light is prevented from returning toward the laser medium gas of the glow discharge 10 and thereby reduction of the capability of amplification of the laser medium can be prevented. |
