PURPOSE:To constitute a fiber optics device having a transistor function by way of a light signal by controlling photon by the photon for the fiber optics device by making use of the induction releasing of a laser medium and the saturation phenomena of gain. CONSTITUTION:Plural waveguides 1, 2, 3 disposed in a manner as to have coupling relations with each other are combined to make basic elements. In this case, the length l of the waveguides is so selected as to satisfy the formula (c is the coefft. of coupling between the adjacent waveguides, and DELTAbeta is the propagation constant difference between the central waveguide and the outer waveguide). Then, the input light 4 having entered the waveguide 1 shifts to the waveguide 2, thence it is outputted from the waveguide 3. Control light 6 shifts to the waveguide 2 then it is outputted from the waveguide 1. |
