The present invention relates to a lamp device for a vehicle comprising: a light source emitting light; a lens with a curvature unit projecting light emitted by the light source, and a flange unit extended outward along a circumference of the curvature unit; a lens holder with an opening through which the curvature unit penetrates, a lens supporting unit extended inwards from the opening, supporting one lateral surface of the flange unit, and a lateral wall unit extended from the opening to an other side; a C-shaped retainer ring joined to an inner side of the lateral wall unit, fixating the lens to a lens holder by supporting an other lateral surface of the flange unit with one lateral surface; and a reflector reflecting the light emitted by the light source to the lens. The lens holder additionally includes at least one tap extended inward from the lateral wall unit, supporting the other lateral surface of the retainer ring, and arranged to be separated from the lens supporting unit. The retainer ring is fitted between the other lateral surface of the flange unit and the tap while the lateral surface of the flange unit is supported by the lens supporting unit, thereby being fitted into the lateral wall unit. The purpose of the present invention is to provide the lamp device for a vehicle and a mounting method thereof capable of mounting the lens in the lens holder without damaging the lens. |
