<p>In the production of spectacle frames use is made of an appts. for measuring the shape of the user's nose so that the bridge piece between the lenses can be made to suit this shape. This appts. includes a block with a pillar projecting upward at one end, so that a transparent measuring plate can be attached to the top for measuring the angle of the nose. Also mounted on the block is a support with two vertical arms, between which is mounted a carrier plate on which can be placed a moulding material to obtain an impression of the shape of the nose, from which a cast can be obtained. The bridge piece is pressed on this cast while still soft, and the cast is allowed to harden.</p> |
