Underfloor communications and power wiring junction box - has divided insulated lower chamber for wiring and upper covered chamber for associated equipment

The box comprises a lower insulated section with a central partition (16) of insulating material to separate the mains and communications wiring. This section has a cover (17) of insulating material. Above the wiring box is another section, with a removable cover (12), for accommodating either mains or communications equipment. The top cover (12) locates on gs (14) on the sides of the lower insulated wiring box. The base of the lower section wiring box has a bottom (5) and side (6) cable entries. The former (5) are for connection to wiring conduits and trunking in the underfloor installation. The side entries (6) are inside a protective outer wall (7) of the complete box and are for cabling from the lower connection box section (9) to the upper equipment or plug and socket section (under cover 12). The side entries (6) are on all four sides of the bottom section and the base cable entries (5) are provided according to the number of cables in the system. The upper section has a fixing board (15) extending upwards from the lower section cover (17) and covered by the complete cover (12).
