The lamp socket has a protection against touching, when the lamp is unscrewed. The current carrying contact parts, which are accessible, are separated by an insulator longitudinally slidable inside the socket. The latter has a threaded body (7) for retaining the incandescent lamp (8). The body has a recess (10) with a leaf spring (11) having a latching cam (12). During screwing home of the lamp, the leaf spring is pressed against the wall of the socket, which simultaneously releases the insulator (6) held by the latching cam of the leaf spring and also fitted with recesses (23). Thus it is slid, against the force of a coil spring (29), so far axially in the direction of the socket bottom (13) using guide strips (5), until the electric middle contact (14) passes through a bore for contacting the lamp cap centre contact, while the lateral outer contact (15) passes through a recess for contacting the lamp cap threaded part.
